New development generates enthusiasm among wheelchair users, accompanying persons and club representatives

Soccer stadiums are subject to the Ordinance on Places of Assembly, which stipulates that 1% of all seats must be reserved for wheelchair users. Hardly any club in the German Bundesliga meets these requirements. The new wheelchair seats developed by goracon and installed for test purposes in Eintracht Frankfurt's Commerzbank Arena can provide a remedy. Here, the seats for the persons accompanying the wheelchair users are attached with the help of goracon's rail guide and can be flexibly moved forwards and backwards. As a result, the capacity of the wheelchair seats can be increased by up to 50%. A positive side effect of this is that the seats can be marketed in line with the market when they are not being used by wheelchair users. Previously, this was not possible because the seats hardly allowed accompanying persons to see the pitch.

The new wheelchair spaces were used for the first time during Eintracht Frankfurt's Europa League match against Flora Tallinn and were met with enthusiasm by wheelchair users and accompanying persons as well as by representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt.
